Having
graduated from the Plaskett Nutritional Medicine College in 1985 with a Diploma
in Nutritional Medicine, I have been
practising as a BANT registered Nutritional Therapist for
11years. Prior
to this I worked as a Development Manager in research and
development within the food industry.
I believe that nutrition
is the key factor linking health, fitness
and well-being, and it
is about keeping your body alive and well by means of food.
Like any complex machine it will not work properly unless
you put the right fuel in it and keep it well maintained.
Well-Being
encompasses the physical, mental and emotional aspects of
life. The key to a sense of well-being is having the right
balance to achieve good health, happiness and prosperity.
As a Nutritional Therapist my aim is to find the underlying cause
of your health problems, carry out appropriate diagnostic
tests, and provide detailed advice on diet and supplements
for maximum health and performance. Even if you
don't have any health problems I can check that you are
doing the right things with regards to disease prevention,
longevity and anti-aging. Specialist
consultancy (e.g. menu analysis for schools, product
development) work can also be undertaken on request.
In 2007 I
qualified as a REPs Level 2 Fitness Instructor. I am
now able to provide my clients with advice on exercise as
well as diet. From September 2007, in partnership with
Key Health, I will be running The Diet Academy weight
management courses. Initially this will be based in my
home town of Warminster, but the plan is to expand into
other regions as we build a network of qualified
instructors.
